Am I getting fired from my job?
I really need help because i feel like I'm getting fired. I work at a fast food as a manager. My hand started hurting about 4 days ago. I told my boss to give me a day of so she did and i went to the doctor. The doctor told me that its probably because of my job. The doctor gave me a note that said i must not go to work for 5 days and also for 20 days my employer must allow me to not do any job that harms my hand. I showed the paper to my boss, she gave me 5 days off. when I came back she told me to take 20 days off, she said she won't pay me and i can't use my vocation hours. She said my only choice is to get on disability which pays only 60 % of my salary. I told her that after 5 days off I'm fine and my hand is better but she said i must take 20 days off regardless. She was also very mean to me when i told her I'm not sure if its because of my job that my hand gets like this, she said " well other employees do the same job and nothing happens to them" . I don't know what to do? is it fair that i have to go on disability and only get 60 %, also I'm scared she might look for any reason to fire me when i get back? Should I talk to a lawyer?
Should i quit my job before i get fired?
I work at subway and the owner told me that i have a week to seriously work faster or hes gonna have to fire me. I was shocked because i think i work faster than alot of my coworkers and i always try to be as fast as possible...i doubt i can work faster than what im working now so theres a very high chance im getting fired. should i just call today and give them the faq you i quit speech? its my first job and been working for only a month...i know im done and i dont want to go backoh i forgot to mention...woulld i have to put this job on future applications?
Should i quit or wait to be fired?
2 months ago...I rejected a nice job, for another job that my ex. boss who moved to another organization promised me at her new organization. She told me to leave it for a better paying one at her job...I did. Now, not only did I discover that this " promised" job was a grant funded job that will end in July, but the grant funders are wondering what is her role in the project? I obviously don't have the experience to do that specific job they want me to do.My manager is stuck having to explain my role...today, I felt that she was put into question for getting me on board. I am pissed off, angry, feel dumb, and despite all I am holding myself together and looking for a new job.Should I quit or wait for the funders to let me go? My boss seems to be trying to shove me in their throat and say that I am important and needed but I am not.
Should I be worried about getting fired?
I work at a local fast food chain, and I started back in August. I was working 3 days a week but as soon as school started i went down to 2, and i worked 2 days a week for about a couple of months, well the business got slow because it got colder outside, so everyone's hours got cut down a little bit, I lost a day off my work days so i was down to 1 day a week and have been working that ever since. The last time I worked my manager came up to me and told me how good of a job I had been doing and how the other managers liked having me there. Well i called him today and asked him what days I was supposed to work next week and we started talking about how I only worked a day a week and I told him I wanted to go back to 2 and that I thought it was just because of everyones hours getting cut. Well he told me he wanted me to come in someday after school this week and talk about it. What should i be expecting?
Can you apply for a job in a brand where you were fired from?
I was fired from my most recent job. How should I handle this when trying to find another?
To make a long story short, I worked for a small laboratory and was disgruntled at how my manager was treating me and refused to even hear my concerns or grievances. The situation grew so frustrating that I gave up all pretenses of polite conversation with her whenever I came in to work. I was falsely accused of doctoring my time card and found out that other coworkers were lying about me behind my back. This added to my poor attitude at work. Well, something came to a head and my work was sabotaged so that it looked like two patients' biopsies were switched, which endangered the diagnoses. The nature of the discrepancy made it impossible to have happened accidentally. I would have had to make no fewer than 10 consecutive mistakes in order to replicate the switch. Regardless, I was blamed for the " mistake" and summarily fired. At first, I didn't think anything of it and saw it as an opportunity to change careers. I have just finished nursing school and have spent the past year looking for a job. I'm quite certain my previous manager has nothing good to say about me, but I'm asked to list her contact information with every application I fill out.How can I get past this mistake in my past? I admit that I handled the situation improperly and unprofessionally, but I still have this black mark of death on my record. I don't want to lie on my application and resume and omit the time I worked there, but I also don't want her stonewalling every opportunity I have to move on with my career. What can I do to smooth this over and get a job? Thanks in advance.
Would I be able to collect unemployment if I am fired for missing inventory?
I am currently on final writeup at a retail job. The first writeup was for failing to hit my sales quota. No other sales rep hit that month but because they were new the manager said they could not be written up. I have been there over a year and this was the first time I missed. I did not fight this. The second writeup occurred when I closed the store one night. I left extra money on top of the safe in a locked cabinet. I told my manager his through text when I left. She said that all money must be in the safe and put me on final writeup. She told HR that he did not believe I was trying to steal but should be aware of the policy for locking up all money. Fair enough. I did not fight her on this. Now the most recent incident is this. I was told by my manager that inventory was missing. She noticed this the day after I worked. Since I closed by myself she insinuated that I may be guilty of theft. For the record I did not steal anything. Since I did not work with the inventory in question my entire shift I did not notice it was missing. She said I should have noticed that the inventory was missing when I closed. I work with electronics and am responsible for making sure all the devices are charged before I leave. I did this, however I did not specifically check to make sure all the devices were there. There is no formal procedure for checking this type of inventory there is no checklist or anything I am supposed to sign off on . I feel the statement of " you should have noticed it wasn't there" is extremely subjective. Furthermore, just because she noticed it was gone the day after I worked is coincidental. It is possible it could have been missing for a few days since again, there is no formal procedure for verifying it was there or when exactly it went missing. My manager, and assistant manager, both worked the day she noticed it was missing as well as the previous day. We have been quite slow recently so not all the devices had been used for a few days. We are waiting on loss prevention. I understand how I could look guilty but I feel I am a victim of circumstance. If I am fired for this what are the chances of being able to collect unemployment? What grounds could I be fired for? Even if I am not accused of theft she could claim that I did not perform my job correctly by failing to notice inventory missing. What should I expect during this procedure?mich First off, thank you for the response Does it matter that the time they noticed the inventory missing is circumstantial? There is no proof that the inventory was even there during my shift. It could have been missing for days. Also, it is not a responsibility of mine to do any kind of formal inventory checking. Also, I understand your point with the mishandling of cash policies. However, my penalty for that was a final writeup. Wouldn't you consider that problem dealt with by the writeup? The incidence with the missing inventory is a new occurrence. If I am fired for that wouldn't my company be defending their right to fire me for that particular occurrence?. It seems wrong to punish an employee by writeup, then punish them again by termination using the same offense as justification. Seems like being punished twice. Had they fired me for the cash policy violation initially I would understand your point. But they didn't.Also, would I be able to make the point thAlso, would I be able to make the point that the cash handling policy was vague or that I didn't understand it? I did make sure the money was secure although not in the safe . Also, I told my manager what I had done the same night. I even offered to fix it after I clocked out. She told me not to worry about it. It order to prove I was aware of the correct policy what do they need to do? Couldn't I claim I was unaware of the correct policy since there are no prior documentation of this same issue being discussed with me?
Can an employee be fired by a director without a president's permission?
I was " fired" by a director because I did not do my share of work. However, the president has told me that I was not fired... Can I be fired by a director without a president's permission?
My boss/friend is {i believe} trying to get me fired? What do you think?
Question There is this guy who is a so called friend of mine. I have been with the company 3 years and he was with the company 6 months and got promoted over me. He s behavior screams sexual harassment. He shares gay jokes, gay related videos, sexual related conversation, calls off all the time for so called medical issues and is just inappropriate but hey.. he got promoted over me. I have been donating suggestions and helpful material to management mgt that they seem to love and takes into consideration and even uses. Although mgt knows of my suggestion and templates for excel spreadsheets, my friend who is in mgt now takes the ideas and uses them as his own without giving me credit. Sometimes he will go as far as to email me his revised copy and ask me to help him tweak it so he can look competent and professional to his bosses in mgt. I m getting tired of it. Lately if a new policy comes up and some of the CSR s are discussing how confused and upset with it, he sends an email to management that we are being disgruntle and not following orders and even throws extra stuff in there about how we REFUSE to follow the new policy which isn t even true. I understand he is management now but this little snot has the nerve to want me to hang out with him at a bar and tweak MY $HIT so he looks good and is quick with the fingers the second I have an opinion about anything. I m tired of it. What can I do so that I am not in the wrong? I wanted to send an email to the MANAGER skipping supervisors because him and the supervisors hang out at bars after work and are friends informing the manager just how inappropriate he is the very next time he pops off offensive gay jokes and sex jokes etc. Is that a good idea or will that look like retaliation? I love my job and have a daughter to support and don t want to lose it but feel I am on the verge of losing my job and sanity because he turns me in for STUPID stuff just to make himself look good to mgt because they are riding his a$$ already. And when I ask him about it he says EVERYTIME management made me do it, I didn t want to but they forced me . I know that s a lie because onetime it was an A and B conversation .. why was I called into the office over something that was discussed in confidence outside of work? Grrrrrrrr Help
Employer fired my mom because she's black.?
Hi. The question was actually an attention getter. But, I do think that my mom was a victim of workplace discrimination. My mom works for a temp agency and the agency sent her on an assignment that she has been working for about 3 years until yesterday. Throughout those three years, my Mom has been complaining about the work conditions. Recently, all of the African American temps who've been working there have been laid off. My sister and my mother included. My mom asked the job site supervisor why she was being laid off and He told her that she did her work a lot slower than another temp. My mom has witnesses that disagree with him and she even told him that wasn't true. Then he changed his excuse to her being late. My mom has been on time every day except for one day last week because of a transportation issue that was out of her control. She even tried to call him to explain that she was going to be late and he didn't even want to listen to her.I also want to add that I think she's also a victim of workplace favoritism. My mom would keep to herself mostly and focus on her work. The temp who's staying and her cousin who's also a temp working there would always buy gifts and flirt with the management. The cousin of the temp that they decided to keep kept asking the supervisor to keep this other temp worker instead of my mom.So, is there any legal action that my mom can take? If so, will she have to contact her temp agency?

I got fired unfairly?
I worked at this Restaurant " Cantina Laredo" Hallandale from late 2010 to late 2011, I asked to take time off cuz I was going through family problems. Ones I got better, I asked to the GM to get back, He was pretty rued but took me back. the first day I did food runner then second I went back to serving table " my main job" after having a very success full shift as far as no mistakes, really good tips and perfect timings on everything, Management had been treating me really bad, even one of them called me a " wet back" when I said that I was a " Be Back" .The GM met my Girl friend and even got much more worst towards me, I really don't know what it really made him be so mean to me but he deferentially was jealous that I have a hot girls which he even said so.The GM comanded me take the serving and food tests which it's about 2 1 2 hours long. then days later told me that I failed it, I asked to see results but I was denide to see them. I asked to get the serving manual to restudy than retake it, so I did studied for hours and retook it and still told me that I failed it, he ignored me for days through calls I made to find out about my last scores than I finally texted him and meanly said you cant work for me, you faild so just stop bothering me. and refuses to show test scores and they didn't even pay me for the time I spent taking those texts.what can I do?

Will I get fired for calling in sick on my 90 day probationary period?
I live in PA and I'm still on my 90 probation. I just called into work and spoke to the manager to let her know that I was vomiting and that I didn't feel like I would be able to be around food. Will I be fired for this?
