Difficult job search situation... what to do?
I just got back from doing a TEFL course, now I have my TEFL certificate and I'm dying to go abroad and teach English, OR go back to Texas and do my K 12 certification there. The problem is, that either of these options requires that I have a substantial amount of money saved up. Right now I have a crummy job, and I need to find a decent one. Not instead of Tefl or getting my teacher certification in Texas the only part of the United States I would consider living in . I've been substitute teaching, and I HATE it. People say things like, " Be grateful you have a job..." but I'm so sick of throwing my life away in such a CRAPPY job. Subbing sucks It's so depressing to go to a job where you'll be treated like shit all day. Administrators treat you like shit, kids treat you like shit all day, and you never get a simple thank you, just treated like dog crap all day and you get paid nickels and dimes. Administrators and permanent teachers have this high and mighty snotty attitude that you're their little bitch and they'll verbally shove your nose in shit. It's cruel and inhumane to shove a dog's nose in shit, let alone a person's but the treatment I've gotten is the verbal equivalent of shoving my nose in shit. I'll get all worked up if I think about it. My mom says that I need to get a " bridge job" and she thinks that I am just not trying. By " bridge job" she means " a decent job that will pay me fairly and provide benefits until I save enough money to move abroad." I DID find a part time job I don't start until April, though. Part of me is grateful for it but it means long hours. My mom urged me to make a list of places to apply for a decent full time job, and I promised my mom that I would do that. I'm stuck, and so lost, though. I have a BA in Spanish and I speak perfect Spanish and I have a TEFL certificate. I don't think I'm qualified for a decent job other than TEFL. On top of everything else, we live in a crummy town and there is NO opportunity here I realize that 80 % of jobs aren't advertised publicly, they're obtained through networking. Is there any decent job " bridge job" as my mom calls it that I'm qualified for? And, how do I go about searching for it?What are some places or channels to search for jobs? If you can help me, thank you. I can accept an honest answer but if you have a nasty comment, please don't waste your time because I don't need to hear it.Thanks if you can help

How do I deduct job search expenses?
I was laid off from my union job last year. I spent money to go to other union halls to sign up and see if i could get a job. I spent money on gas, food and lodging which I kept track up. Are these all deductible and if so do they have to go on that form 2106 or can I just list them and take the full amounts for a deduction?

Using tax form 1040A Federal and Turbotax, where do you put in job search expenses?
I'm using Turbotax to file for my 1040A Federal taxes. Turbotax says you can deduct job search expenses while unemployed. Does anyone know where or how you enter those? I already IMed Turbotax and they have no idea how to do it even though in the help section it says it's possible.

How should I ask my temp agency/recruiter to help me further in my job search?
I've been employed as one of 100 temps this agency hired back in october to work on a project for one of their big clients.5 months later, the project's winding down closer and closer to the end and things still haven't been looking up in my job search.I'm going to email my point person to see if she has anything in mind for me but I could use some help forming the question.I was thinking something along the lines of " < INSERT GENERIC FRIENDLY INTRO> I was wondering if you have anything lined up that would suit me and my background now that the project is coming to a close. If not, please keep me in mind in the months to come should anything come up...." Any and all help is appreciated. Thanks in advance everyone.

Has anyone used that monster job search web site?
i've started using Monster job search and only employers with commission jobs are interested in me. I am not looking for a commission job, im very frustrated. I am 21 yrs old, i have a high school diploma and i went to a community college for 2 years, but i dont have any type of degree yet. I have been job searching since i was 18 years old and i rarely get a job interview, no one calls me after i apply. I know there is nothing wrong with my applications or resumes, cuz i've had them revised but other ppl such as teachers, etc. One thing, i will not work at a fast food. I am looking for customer service or at least cashier positions. Any advice?

Job searching without the internet and traineeships?
How do i get a job without the internet, personally i hate the internet when it comes to job searching, you don't get to speak with the employer directly you have to deal through an agency and its so impersonal. And the employer doesn't get to meet you and find out why you are good for the job, they really only get to look at a stupid piece of paper which may be the reason you don't get the job. Also I have applied for a bunch of traineeships and I can't get them because I am over qualified, so if I cant get a job in IT because I'm under qualified but overqualified for a traineeship how do I get a job?
