What to do to find a job at 39 yrs of age and long gap in work history!?
I'm 39 and decided to raise children for the past 10 yrs. Not to mention the entire southern part of our state was economically depressed. Now, we have moved into a better job market, I'm one semester away from a BS degree in I.S. and don't know what to do next. I've thought about volunteering or even trying to go through an employment agency for temp work. Do I have a shot at getting paid to work or should I try going the volunteer route?

I left college in june and im still looking for a job, i go job centre every other day which is useless, i also go connections which again pretty much is a waste of time. I have a qualification in public services but again there are no jobs in the police so i don't see what the point in the whole course was?, what am i supposed to do every job advertised either needs experience or more qualifications. I am Still entitled to go back to college for one more year because im not 19 yet but that is a definite no because i absolutely hated it. Does anyone have any ideas?Send your spam elsewhere

I am an American woman living in London free thanks to a good friend . I am legal to work & signed up to more than 20 agencies. Have applied for over 120 jobs since May and don't even get a letter back. I am not a spring chicken, but I am attractive and well educated. I have been self employed for the last 5 yearsin the USA , so recognize that I may be out of the current loop. Any radical ideas are genuinely appreciated and please no sarcastic smarties. You may indeed be clever, but that isn't being helpful.I am not asking for a job, just ideas. Whatever I am doing isn't working pun intended .I lived here in the mid 80's and job hunting was never so anonymous and coldly indifferent. What am I doing wrong? PS I don't smell bad, ha ha. Thanks.I can't even get an interview for a temp receptionist situation let alone a job and I have a law degree and years of experience in law offices and government jobs. Finding a job if you have tattoos?
a really good friend of mine recently had to quit her job, she worked overnight at a store and the lack of sleep was making her too sick and tired to work or do anything anymore. She has a lot of visible tattoos and piercings but she'd be willing to take the piercings out for work.Right now she just needs any kind of job to keep up with the rent and car payments, she's 21 by the way, does anyone know of any places she should try or could go to for help? Example they claim to be the highest raded job finding web site.You contact them and ask them what the precntege rate of hire is they don't no and they don't keep track of this but yet they rate them selfs number 1 then the college adds i have yet to ever be able to actually get to a job application on the web site I just interested to see what the hard working people of America who are going through same are similar frustrations as me have to say about this if they offer us a vote on there web site to get rid of college adds what would answer be the end reponce would 2 be drop this lazy world and go back to job hunt old fashioned way paper app and a interview the day you fill out application

With unemployment spiraling out of control, I would like to know how many people out there are out of a job for whatever reason that may be. Tell me why. What hardships are you going through trying to find a job best suited for you? I would like to know any feelings you may have about the scarcity of jobs in America right now. What field are you in and what pay range are you used to or expecting based on the skills and education you posses? Are you frustrated and who do you think is responsible for this current environment? Please share your honest feelings whatever they may be. What is your personal opinion regarding NO JOBS IN AMERICA? Do you feel you can make a living on what they are paying most people in their fields today? This applies to minimum wage and high income earners alike. What should be done now?
